How many Erwin Marlins are there? There were two Erwins used to make this film. The first and most obvious was the actor, Darrell Smith. The second was a cyber-Erwin.

Darrell's proportions and facial features were modeled in a computer. All of the materials from his costume were photographed and used as the texture maps for the virtual costume. Darrell's face was also photographed and used as the UV texture map for the 3D wiremesh.
